The kit consists of a teacher manual, student reading portfolios and decodable books to provide explicit direct instruction for students to read and write at the beginner level. On completion of this kit, students will be able to read and write all consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words and forty-eight high frequency words. Each week students will learn new letter names and sounds while simultaneously utilizing them to blend and segment CVC words for reading words, sentences and books, as well as spelling words and writing sentences.
